Our Aims At Cheltenham Hydrotherapy Centre our aims are to return pets to maximum health in a safe and gentle way following surgery or injury, to relieve pain and improve fitness. To achieve this, we use a state-of-the-art water treadmill. This hi-tech ‘water-walker’ has several treatment benefits: Therapy can begin soon after a pet has undergone surgery It is believed to result in a faster recovery period after an injury The water-walker encourages aerobic exercise Pets can enjoy and benefit from controlled exercise The depth of the water used and the speed of the treadmill are completely adjustable so that each session can be carefully adapted to the needs, abilities and size of individual animals. The water, which is cleaned and filtered for each new session, is heated to 28ºc Each pet is treated by our veterinary staff who are fully trained in hydrotherapy and are dedicated to this field of animal rehabilitation.
